El fotógrafo de la calle nos ha dejado delante de una ventana excesiva, saturada de mujeres y de alcohol, que a uno, que merodea con sencillez y porque sí, le trae desde el olvido las palabras apócrifas del poeta: ‘entre neón y neón vi dos palomas oscuras, la una era la otra y las dos eran ninguna’.

El letrero, el cartel rojo sucio, la publicidad pública que hay debajo de la chica, nos dice que vayamos a pasar un día que nunca olvidaremos. Como si olvidásemos alguno de nuestros días, infinitos o desahuciados, tiesos como un embalaje de cartón o azules como bombones de chocolate azul.

‘Vecinitas, les dije, dónde está mi sepultura’-dijo también el poeta, que estaba un poco rarito porque los dos pieses ya le apestaban a muerte, que no se podía ni respirar a su lado, como a queso manchego curadísimo o a tortilla de alcachofa con mucha cebolla.

Por el suelo, o sea, por el asfalto de la calle y por las aceras, pasan coches y gente, todos haciéndose los suecos unos a otros, como si no se conocieran de nada, como si no fueran de la misma especie y cada uno de ellos no supiera de qué pie cojean todos los demás, ‘en mi garganta, dijo la luna’ –se lo dijo al poeta, que ya estaba mareado de muerte y no reconocía a sus seres queridos.

Otro luminoso, también rojo como una cereza, dice regalos, entre gentlemen y electronics, quizá es una extraña ciudad donde la gente se regala cosas, antes de morir, aquí todo se hace siempre antes de morir o, como muy, muy tarde, en el trance, tal vez porque de lo que pase luego, después, más tarde, al día siguiente, no sabemos nada; antes, cuando entonces, se acompañaba al muerto en su primera noche en la muerte, para qué, si la muerte está llena de nieve como un paisaje nevado, no por el frío sino por el color, que es el de la nieve cuando hay mucha nieve, cuando está todo cubierto de nieve, no por el frío sino por el silencio afelpado y el resplandor acuchillado de la luz.

‘Por las ramas del laurel vi dos muchachas desnudas’ –dice ahora el poeta, definitivamente traspuesto, quizá ya muerto o sólo dormido o durmiendo una siesta sabrosa. Qué ciudad más hermosa, qué impura, qué sucia y excesiva.
